The University of California, Irvine School of Social Sciences' Department of Economics welcomes to campus ConocoPhillips, the third-largest integrated energy company in the United States, for "Energy Policy in Society," an academic symposium bringing together top executives from ConocoPhillips and internationally acclaimed professors from the UC Irvine Economics department and Policy, Planning, & Design department to discuss, question and comment on how the nation's energy policies impact our society.

Second is the premier event - a town hall style meeting to be held at the Irvine Hyatt on the evening of the 18th. This event will feature ConocoPhillips CEO Jim Mulva and a panel of high-level experts from the renewable fuels, environmental and business communities, and will offer the opportunity for interactive dialogue with the audience. This event is also free of charge.

A Conversation on Energy will be hosted by ConocoPhillips and the University of California, Irvine, School of Social Sciences and Department of Economics.
